x442 vs x642 and motors choice for maritimo

I just acquired a abandoned Maritimo build from Michiganmaniac and he gave me two x642 props with it and the 642's are "pitched up" from cmd in florida

question is what is the difference between a 442 prop and 642 prop? handling characteristics wise

and this should be setup with the starboard side running normal and the port side running clockwise?

    in turn?

I am seriousley thinking of running twin Scorpion HK3026 1400kv each on its own 6s 5000mah 30c with the himodel 200amp esc's

    any differant scorpion suggestions?

    or two 8xl feigao's in 4s?

Only disadvantage i could think of on the 642's is you may get too much lift from them . Maybe not though. They will give more thrust thsn the 442's though. I think I would go 8xl's over the outrunners just because they'd be easier to keep cool.

Difference between 442 and 642 is the pitch. 442=1.4 pitch and 642=1.6 pitch. Both are 42mm
diameter. I would go with the 642 for more forward thrust. I agree with Rumdog and would not use
outrunner motors. No way of water cooling efficiently . Regards

I would suggest using higher voltage and lesser KV with motor choice which will yield longer run times and lesser amp draw. I also suggest going with a "L" size motor instead of XL size. The longer can usually results in having to trim around hatch opening and with a twin that size the larger motors aren't really needed. The setup he was going with would provide a good run time and speeds to reach mid 60's. The Maritimo is an awesome hull and has become quite hard to get.

Sounds like the ticket might be two proboat black jack motors 1500 kv and short can......6s on each motor?

I run a X6 series prop on a 32" Bittburger cat and I don't notice anymore lift then with a X4 series. I have tried detounged props and they seemed to cause lift. I was told if they were backcut also this would help reduce some of the lift, never got that far because I was very happy with the X6 series performance and temps.

two UL1 motors on 4s is another choice, also two SV27 motors but the UL1 is higher kv
It is safer to run the Himodel on 4s

yes but i like the idea of higher voltage and lesser KV like the bj26 motors plus the bj's are very reasonable whn you consider the cooling jackets are included

plusssss I have seen the bj's perform in jesse's intruder and like the results

I do not know if the Himodels will handle the 6s for long

Recall, those esc s in my twintruder were Proboat as well... on internal BEC... temps were all nice and low. Could conceivably add external BEC and more caps to that ESC and be OK. I have run 6S for 3-4 minutes and temps still under 100... under 85 to be precise. Great motor for twin setups.

true very true...if they dont hold up I would go to the hew version of seaking 180amp

Yes price is always an issue. Whatever you can get for free or closest to it seems to be the way
