RCline HBS-60 Speed Controller info required!

    Hi Folks

After smoking my previous speed controller I've just bought off ebay a RCline HBS-60 speed controller

But do not have much info on it... its sold as

'This unit is a RCline Digital HBS-60. It's a high frequency micro computer. It has an inlet and outlet connection for water cooling. It can run continously at 256Amps and is easy to program.

As you can see form the specs it will handle large loads and I was sold it to run two motors. The unit can handle between 8 and 24 cells.

The unit has forward and backwards or forward and brake or forward only.'

    256Amps sounds a bit extream??
Anyone used one of these before? or have setup instructions??

    Many thanks

sorry to hear that, I've got no experience in brushed esc, u should try brushless esc, much better than brushed esc

mmmm gutted!! it is all getting expensive!!, my attempts of doing brushless on the cheap has not proven great in the past, been a lot of trial and error.

I have got a Brushless ESC lying around:

SP 70A ESC Speed controller OPTO
                55 x 35 x 8 mm , weighs 63 gram (2.21oz)
                Constant current 70A Max 80A <10s
                Li-Poly 4-8 cells; Ni-MH 12-24 cells
                Low resistant 0.0017 ohms
                Dynamic braking
                BEC: No
Auto shut down when lose signal
Slow down at 3.0V per cell Lipo, Cut-off at 2.9V per cell Lipo 0.8V Nimh

Maybe you can help... I've got a highwind mono hull 30"ish 20cell NI MH, what would be a cheap safe brushless motor & prop to use aiming for 35-40mph range.

Any help would be much appropriated

Ok, one most important thing is to waterproof and watercooled the esc, and with your 20cells nimh batteries which give a total of 24v. Feigao would be an excellent motor, I recommend 13xl or 14xl and don't forget to watercooled it also. U might wanna start with a small prop and start with x440 first. If u want a cheaper motor, u might try the swapshop, or go to hobbycity and get this motor http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...hless_Inrunner, Hope it helps

i think my boat is a bit big to use 60.000 rpm tho . so im not sure to get a smaller hull or a new motor :/
