    deans connectors

Hey I just noticed that with deans you can solder pos neg however you want as long as they are all the same. I recently got some batts with deans on them allready and they are opposite mine. does everyone go through this or is there a standard as to flat=pos or vertical=neg? I would suppose tamiya connectors would be the same way but i have never ran across having trouble with neg and pos with the tamiya connectors. If there is no standard someone should create one!

last time I looked the top of the "T" was positive and the leg of the "T" was negative, thats how it is marked.

    hopefully that makes sense

you and me both, those direction things you talk of are the things I go back and look at when something does not turn out right :)

They're marked. Look on the side where you solder to and on the flat part of the red where the pins go into the red you'll see a "+" on one and a "-" on the other.

they can be either as long as you observe polarity, ie: a Y-connector for packs in series.

they can absolutely be used either way, however there is a plus and a minus on them so you may want to follow that so if you ever buy an assembled pack they will match.

Best to keep it standard. The most important thing is that the female connector goes on the batteries. Less chance to short them out.
