    Cat Bulkhead ?

I know bulkheads are for structural support, however, Ive got a couple questions.

I read in a post somewhere on here not long ago stating that if you epoxy the bulkhead in, it could create a contact line and show through the hull onto the outside? Something to do w/ temp differences between the bow and the back and it causes stress to the bulkhead??? And so, you should use caulk or silicone to install it? Anyone have insight on this?

Also, along w/ structural support, I am more interested in getting it to seal off the front incase of another mishap w/ an ESC failure. I figure I can possibly control the smoke damage to the back half of the hull. And if there is any more "popping" of the hull from deck, hopefully it will remain behind the bulkhead and not pass through it.

Thoughts, comments, trail and errors anyone has had?

    Thanks,
    Scott

Oh and I am putting foam in the front... not relying on air to keep it sealed and afloat. Bow + hitting something + 40 or more mph + only air = SUNK BOAT

The air inside the sealed of space in the fordeck will expand with heat, if you epoxy the bulkhead in place then you will see a line going around the hull along the bulkhead joint because the epoxy does not give.

And therefore you just make a small hole in the bulkhead which remains open, untill
you're gonna use the boat. Close the hole and go boating, after the run you open the hole.
      That simple.

Thanks for the replies gentleman. So Im going to go w/ Gerwins plan of attack. Epoxy it it but create a breather hole.

        Thanks,
