jae .21 rigger plans release today.

jae .21 rigger plans release, today. (a taste for now, but pdf will be available in 24 hours)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys...for those of you who also frequent intlwaters, you can find plans (in about 24 hours) of a great nitro rigger hull, that should be great for FE. the Nitro versions haul absolute ass, and have already set records of lap times, over other riggers. I am almost finished with one I scaled up to a large .21 size hull from the jae .12 plans.
For the direct link, and a great site for rc info...check out a blog of one of my acquaintances from intlwaters. Niklas. http://ne-stuff.blogspot.com/

I added some pics of my build, soo far.

So a quick glance at the teaser plans shows not alot of work would have to be done to make it FE friendly. If we were to move the booms back a few inches it would leave alot of room for packs inbetween the booms.

                  Any thoughts?

I have mine about 90% built. I will post a pic or two soon. I moved my boom spacing when I enlarged the original jae .12 plans. I think they are 7" it fits my lipo with room for adjustment. I enlarged the plans tub length to 29" and overall is about 32-32" or so, I don't have it in front of me to measure right now.
Everything else can be left the same. I am adding a bubble tape down hatch and the radio box is left the same. Basically making this rigger, as well as the keps .21 is very easy when bubble hatch is added...allowing an angled motor mount and will fit any motor with cooling jacket. balancing the hull out, to get a COG close to the nitro version is all it takes, until it hits the water than fine tuning is needed, as with ANY new hull.

I have run single rear skis on my fe keps, and they work OK...but to be honest, the double rear sponsons on heavy FE riggers, results in a better runnning hull. Especially in rough, or race water. The single skis, with FE are amazing on glass and for sport running...but it gets squirrely in rough/race water.

just some input from my riggers that were nitro hulls, changed for FE power.

If you draw a line straight through the boom holes and extend it a few inches back that would leave the same AOA right?

Yes, only extend the rear boom hole. Exactly what you suggested, draw a straight line from the original hole and the AOA will be the same, as long as you draw the same line, adn extend it on the hull as well.

Just a note on the JAE .21.
Kentley Porter just drove that boat to record speeds on the 1/3 and 1/4 mile oval in both B and C Hydro!!!!!!
                            You go guy!!
I can't wait to see what the "Ampheads" are able to do with this hull!!

Cant wait to see the 21FE kit in December, a 1515 1y Neu would be a great motor for this hull. I think that the Fullers hydro strut and rudder set-up I have on a Matrix would be good hardware also. Or other hardware ?
