    porposing?

i just took my new micro scat cat that i just finished building out for its first run and on 3s all the boat wants to do is bounce up and down and porpoise and if i even try to really hit the thottle the torque roll just wants to flip the boat. until i get my steerable outdrive from danny im running a strudder setup that i made but it isnt performing well. my first instinct is to go down to 2s go to a smaller prop and raise the strut, but the strut is as high as it will go i was wondering what you guys thought i should do to settle the hull down in the water. i was also thinking about moving the battery further forward.

    thanks!

James, what motor and prop....3S is probably too much without knowing all the parameters

move your batteries forward a bit. Sounds like it's stern heavy.

Search thru the posts for a thread on a magic part for the jolly catamaran, basically a small wedge put on the back end of the tunnel.

Try this as last resort after trying battery movement etc...

I know it helped my Twin Jolly but its 35 inches long!

It won't help the torque roll --- but it will help the bounce!

Have you tried changing the strut height, angle, and/or the battery location?

The torque roll is probably due to too large of a prop. What kv is your motor? What size prop?

I agree, strut up, prop down, lower voltage. I did the same thing at first, but ease into that hull, really easy to overpower it.

                    cheers

                      ok heres what i did

i propped down to a smaller prop
raised the strut as high as it would go
added 1 quarter ounce egg sinker to the tip of each sponson
went down to a 2s lipo

                      results tommorow

Ok, let me back up. Ideally you take one change at a time. Sounds like you changed everyting at once. For the strut, just try to make it a tad above the base of the sponsons ride pad. I have seen those puppies move and they have a bit of nose up, so do some searching and see how others have set theirs up. Once you get close, make little changes at a time, otherwise, you will be back with the dolphins..
