    Aquacraft Hammer BL question?

Hey fellow r/c boaters!! quick question for all you experts? im not a newbie to the Brushless scene but i was wondering what you all might think of this BL set up on the Aquacraft Hammer? i just bought a Novak Havoc system with a 17.5 turn motor i guess its Novaks Sport brushless system?($149.00) i will run it with either a 7 cell 4800 nimh or a reedy 5000 7.4 @ 20c? I will use a reef racer prop which is very small but Works well on the stock Hammer and ill prop up from there. modified Water cooled esc with fan cooling and cooling coil on the motor. What do you all think will the Novak Havoc be any good? testing this weekend ill post pics soon......Thanks

The Hammer is a subsurface drive and the prop shaft is angled downward. If the new motor you purchased is significantly more powerful, the prop will spend its energy trying to push the boat out of the water. My guess is you would have uncontrollable porpoising. But I went on youtube and did a search on "brushless hammer" and found some videos. It didnt look as bad as I thought it would. If you already have the hardware, give it a shot and have fun! Let us know what happens.

Nautiboyz, you are right about the hamers drive line, its limit is that and the hull design also has its limits. the hammer though is a great boat to tinker with rescue with its got its fun factor. mr. Vaccaro might remember the Novak HV Max i ran on the Hammer a long time ago. It did not last long the whole drive line statrted to crack and the Novak system just hated being in water. It was really fast but never faster. I think my pics my still might be @ rcflix ill see if i can post again it was crazy while it lasted.

Fun little hull though. It was me and my sons first boat. Now two years later I'm doing my third brushless build and my first gas build.

            Did someone say rescue???

I thought about going brushless in mine, then thought of driveline issues etc and this is what it turned out to be.... and its perfect.

Nice The Hammer is a gem at rescue and fun when everything else is on dry dock. If you look at my gallery i also tried the Novak HV Max on a Kyosho Twinstorm which was a epic failure. Mr. Vaccaro actually helped me set up the Hammer to run BL until the whole hull started cracking from the HV Max power band which was just plain crazy and it was fun while it lasted. I have old video of the Hammer running on that system when i have a chance ill post it for old time sake.
