    Drifter s

i managed 45 mph today (1 Zippy 2600mah 4s 30c) with it and think it can do more... any advice on how to improve it?

ran on a x462 s&b do have more lipos on the way 4s 5000mah's but any other advice on improving speed? it has a feiago 8xl and a as26-150bl which recorded about 36000 rpm but im not sure on how accurate this is

    any ideas on improving speed?

That a pretty hot setup, from my calculation with the prop that u use that would be 51658.4rpm, u are so lucky. U need to prop down to x442. If u want to improve speed, u can go for 6s, Im using feigeo 12xl, here a video of my drifter s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbFsAvMm15g

sorry for the poor video and those irritating noise not from my boat..LOL

I also have a Drifter S. It will be running the 13xl on 6s 6000mah lipos. A motor in this size range will allow me to have a wider range of props where as you are very limited to small props.

Might try a 5s for now then maybe a 6s might come... The only x442 I have isn't balanced or sharpened and I lack the skill too is there that much difference in 1.4 to 1.6?

The esc and motor are cool even the 2600 mah zippy lipo I used was cool...

with your existing motor and prop(even u've s&b), I wouldn't recommend to go for 5s, its fast but in the end

I'm assuming you ran it on 4s with a X642 prop? Have you tried different strut adjustments and battery placement locations?

U can go faster if u have a 4s lipo more than 30C rated, or u can go parallel, if u have another of your 2600mah which makes 5200mah 60C. With your existing motor, stick with x442 prop to be on the safe side.

My Drifter S, with an 8XL, Hydra 240 [ minor overkill, but I like headroom], 4s2P Neu 4100's, and a X642 very sharpened runs high 50's. SAW trap timed @ 58.1 mph. Temps acceptable for a 3-min. run. Corners like King Henry VIII . With a 442 or 640 you should get mid-fifties with no sweat. Experiment with strut height & angle & C.G. & you should get there.
