    Hatch tape?

I know dumb question but how does the hatch tape work? I have some didnt want to use it. Can you use it over and over? do you have to cut tape to open hatch? does it leave adhesive on hull?

I tape my Cat hatch completely......no gaps whatsoever and do not get a single drop of water in hull......I cut it to length, overlap strips and one time, maybe two use........yes, it does leave adhesive on the hull but cleans up with alcohol.....the stuff on OSE is great.....nice and wide and plenty amount.

I just buy 3M "Scotch 35" vinyl tape from the home store - I like it better than the special "hatch tapes". The 35 tape is available in multiple colors, can be reused, seldom peels up your paint job, leaves no sticky adhesive behind, and you don't have to wait on the postman for delivery if you need it in a hurry. A roll costs less than $4 and lasts a long time.

As with all hatch tapes, make sure the area around the hatch opening is clean and dry before using the tape. And very important - do not leave any tape on the boat on days when you are not running it.

I am going to try that tape Fluid..Thanks.. Mich.. I dont reuse it. It's cheap and I like the peace of mind with a fresh tape job each time. To save time I precut strips and tape tack them to the side of my box.

Is this the same stuff you used on your 70+mph boats?

Yes, on my 85 mph boats in fact. I have crashed at near 80 mph numerous times and only once had the hatch leak. That was when the 18-cell packs came loose and split the deck and hatch.....
