thanks I'll Be Looking for that. One other question do you think $50 is too much to pay for an old nitro hull (no cracks or holes)

No way thats cheap. The problem is its an old hull and the new ones like i have are practicly unsinkable because the hull is inclosed in the motor compartment area so you will have to seal it good with tape on the hatch when ready to run and put some foam in there as well in case of a mishap. Did you buy the hull yet?

No I did not buy it yet. I wanted to make sure I coud do it first (I never put a boat together yet) the hull needs some major clean up but overall in good shape and I wanted to make sure it was a good deal. Looks like I might have a good winter project Ill keep you posted

Hey Jabbo, here is what I did. I wouldn't consider it an ideal "first build" but you would definitely learn a lot about it, and therefore you may end with a great outcome. $50 is a great deal - IF it ain't all stinky with that nasty nitro stuff and the boat isn't coated with a bunch of residue. This is why I bought new or near new hulls for my conversions. Check out my thread and see what questions come out. Scroll down a bit, I joined Bustit on a combined build, so mine is not obvious from the title of the thread.

Some of the older hulls have a straight shaft (more work to switch to a flex)
Not much adjustment so you would also want to change that
              Just something to look for

thanks for all the support I will definitely check out your video and build threads. I did not pick up the boat yet but whene i looked at there did not seem to be any nitro smell or residue just a bad paint job. It looks to be an old lumar (it was yellow at one time) and it does have a flex cable. Any other tips or suggestions are always welcome Ill try to keep everyone posted once i can figure out how to do a build thread

I just know that it is always better to pay a little more for a new or very gently used hull than one that has seen battle. be sure it is in good shape and is clean, I would rub the inside with an alcohol rag and see what comes out. It is going to go fast, you want it to be reliable too...

Man, eboat, you have all kinds of room in there, why not add a gps, data logger and a video camera ?? Tight fit in these hulls, but the looks make it worth it to me.

Where is your COG? I had to add weight to the nose to get mine close enough to the sponsons trailing edge (right now about 1.3" back)
