If any of you are members of Jim's R/C Boat Dock (a gas site), check out this thread on their swap shop. It's comical!!! Definitly not how we do business at OSE.

A short overview for those that do not belong to this forum: There are a few members on that board who will put in item up for sale. Anyone and everyone who shows interest gets a PM with the sellers paypal address. First one that pays, gets the item. The rest get a "tough luck" PM and have to wait for a paypal refund.

It is not right to take 1 thread or a couple people out of the bucket and BLAST the forum! I am a regular on JRCBD, OSE, and RRR... I have seen these problems on all the forums from time to time...... No need to point fingers....

Who the hell would do that. Nice way for a spam user to raise some funds and screw multiple users cash!

I also have very good comments for the Swap Shop and I don't live in USA. All the deals I had were perfect with honest people. The good thing is that many people also offer International shipping.

I apologize for my wording in the thread Richard. It was a poor choice of words. No disrespect intended to the Dock and it's members. Even though I do not have many posts on the Dock, I do visit it frequently as I am building my first gas boat. It was in the timing of reading this thread and then going over to the other board. I do find this an unusual way of doing business. I don't know if the moderators have any control over it, but I did'nt think this is something that would or should be allowed. JMHO..

Richard, personally when I read his thread I didn't think anything negative of Jim's forum. I thought it reflected more about the thread poster. Its not a nice way to sell something. I also must say that if I read the thread on Jim's, if it was posted here, I don't think as a mod I would have done anything about it. I would suggest as a mod/forum user I would boycott a swap shop thread of that kind, especially if he's done it on more than one occasion.

I was just saying,, there are "bad-apples" on all the forums,, his post might lead someone to believe that JRCBD is a "not so honest" forum... Sends the wrong message...... I think it is the OSE of gas boat forums.. A great place to swap info and idea's. Most of the people there are just as HONEST as the one's here at OSE.. JMHO

I agree. Jim's has been around for as long as I remember. He's doing something right over there!

I can see how my post was perceived as mocking "The Dock". I wouldnt air out OSE's dirty laundry on Jims so I should not of mentioned the site by name on this board. I've spent the last year trying to get the FE and IC guys together in D12. The last thing I want to do is drive a wedge between the two. 'Nuff said on the subject

Steven, Excuse me if it's already written in the swap shop rules (and I haven't read it), but could you add one more rule to it? When an item is sold the seller should mod the title of the thread and add a "- SOLD" or similar to it. So it's easier to see what might still be available, before clicking on and opening the thread.

Setting the item as is suggested. That's why we have the ability to edit the original post. It's not a rule as yet though.
