    M11 needs no PiStix

Yo fellas....Messing with my gear today I found out if you set the trim and sub-trim to 100% brake, it will arm the hextronic ESC's without the pistix. It works great. WOT works and all.

Just thaught maybe some people with a high-end radio might appreciate that.

Just for grins, arm the speed control, then turn the TX off for a sec. and see what happens.
Then contact Steven and order a Pistix. It will cost you $13.40 to use that control safely.

Nothing really. If you turn the Tx off when you are on the throttle, it just keeps it where ever you where on the throttle for about 3 secs, then goes to neutrel.

If you turn the Tx right back on, the ESC arms right back up. Simple.

        So I DON'T need a PiStix

Well like my moma told us kids when we were being "Hard Headed"..... "Shoot yourself"
When you have to FOOL your ESC into arming, you are FOOLING yourself.
I'll be here to read your sad story about how your boat ran away, or ran aground or maybe went WOT on the bench. I just hope nobody gets hurt because you were sooooooo much smarter than the rest of us.

I have seen it happen, it ain't pretty, good luck, you're playing with fire.
          It's 13 bucks guy.

doug, it works.....when you turn the Tx off.....it shuts off almost instantly. Whats the harm?

            if it works, it works......right?

I'm sure i'll have him send me a couple pistix with my next order....but until then, this will work fine.

maybe you need to stop buying pistix and invest in a real radio doug

That is the way the SuperVee's ESC has to be armed with the stock radio or any other pistol radio. I thought that was kinda strange. The ESC must then be an aircraft speed control and they used this little trick to get it to arm with a pistol radio instead of using a PiStix module to convert it. Is this a dangerous situation if you have a SuperVee? Maybe this is why so many people are having runaways with the stock radio. I'm using a JR-XS3 and haven't had a problem yet. Maybe if Aquacraft sells to the public like that then it is OK to use an stick ESC with a pistol radio with this little arming trick.

Fast guy, I don't mean to say your wrong....But I have had a SV27 sence they came out, and mine just arms.

When I plug the batteries in, it beeps once, I pull WOT and hold for a sec, it beeps again 2 times I think. Armed and ready to go.

I never had any issues using any radios with the SV27.

Doug is right, I have a Hextronic 120 ESC with Pistix. In my opinion it is not a great ESC for FE boats. the FETS are not of great quality. I purchased it as it was cheap and I thought what the heck, give it a whirl. I will suggest that the OEMRC Sentillon 100 amp is good value, but you still have to add water or fan cooling for high amp draw applications. But you can not beat ESC's built for FE boats. If you have a device such as Eagle Tree to monitor amp draw, you will be surprised at the huge demands on start up.

When you first got you SuperVee the radio was already set up with the throttle trim knob already turned all the way counterclockwise to in effect do what you did with your hextronic ESC. Try setting the SuperVee radio throttle trim to centre and see if it arms. Check out this link. Hey, no worries, I don't mind being wrong.

I never used the stock radio. I used a FM radio off the batt. Never had to turn the trim's at all. When I turn my SV ESC on, I hold WOT till it beeps, then it does a series of beeps and it's ready to go. Maybe they switched to a differant ESC. I have one of the 1st gen SV's. I was that guy at the LHS the day they came in....

Well doug. Thanks for your advice, and from now on I guess I will listen a bit better. What you said might happen, happened. Only I got caught in weeds and my boat was going slow around a turn. So when my throttle stuck, and my steering stuck....it just went slow into the weeds and quit. You would be surprised how far a boat will travel in 3 secs. I don't know what happened. All the sudden I lost everything. I tried to re-arm the ESC after I got the boat back and nothing. I waited a couple hours and it arm's fine now. Had I been WOT, I would have been out a lot of money.

Thanks guys, and doug. Please excuse me while I place an order with steven and get myself a pistix.
