I have a DF to build,I was thinking of using a Lehner 2250/13T on 8 cell lipos but I think it is getting to heavy, I am open for suggestions. Has any body built a DF and if so what was your set up. so I am confused now I think it's to much motor.

I run a Neu 1521 1.5D on 4s, seems to run great. I have seen that hull with the 1521 1.5D on 5s and its BALLISTIC!

Weight is not the problem, as it is probably an advantage with today's power, but that in my oppinion is too much power you are thinking about...run time...props?

All of us in our club run the 1515/1Y in our DF33's. They are blazing fast. One is running over 60mph on oval racing!

With the 1515/1Y how many cells are you running and what ESC are they using?

The million dollar question...what ESC...what is your budget and proposed goals ...high voltage etc. ?

This seems to be the popular setup on most 33's and on 4S will approach 60.

Do you plan to race? If so then 4s is the way to go.

BUT... there is something to be said about building a higher-voltage, lower KV motor setup... Less amp draw and longer runtimes being one... There are a couple of decent and inexpensive 6S+ controllers out there that would do the trick, if you are just looking for a nice, fast, reliable sport setup...
