I really actually wish we did... I have a brand new Mutt II Sport 40 by Mark Anderson sitting here that is just PERFECT for Q-Sport power!! I'm going to build it, but that's a LOT of money to spend to build something, that, while it fits a class, will be a shelf queen because they don't get raced but in a couple of clubs and maybe once a year on the National scene....

As far as a new organization, the presidents of NAMBA and IMPBA put in tremendous amounts of hours more that most of us can appreciate. Neither of them talk bad about the other or their organizations.
Both of them tell me that even getting articles for their new letters out of anyone from the FE side is difficult or impossible with the exception of Lohring Miller.
So for some to talk about forming another organization for FE sort of makes me chuckle.
Just My 2 cents,
Ken

A current Q-mono lets say like my Dew Boat (36" no Step 4), would get killed by a 45" Delta Force. These newer real large T boats make huge holes in the water, and make smaller boats really difficult to run. I'm sure there will a bunch of them at the next nats. You would have had to see it run this year in Michigan, just a hole different animal of a boat.
So perhaps:
Up to 7.5V - Open
Up to 15V - Spec
Up to 15V - Open
Up to 22.2V - Open
Up to 40V - Open
That would still simplify things considerably... Not necessarily on WHAT is being run, but in what the rulebook says is a class... Still a lot of power levels to choose from. At least 25 classes if I'm counting correctly the number of hull types (Mono, Offshore, Sport Hydro, OPC, Hydro), plus 1/10th scale.
Maybe some are right in wanting to keep the "P-Spec" thing at a local level... but I think it would be a shame to have so many people racing this popular format, only to NOT be able to translate that into a legal class at a National event.
Also, it's not clear in this list, but I wouldn't put any effort personally into getting rid of the N1 classes... I'd just leave them alone, though I would drop the parallelling limit just like all the rest. This is just a couple more classes and the participation would dictate how often they are run... There are too many still involved in these classes back east, and one lone sole in CA () that like running this class still...

Darin,
You have a very valid point about making the SPEC class(es) a legal event since there is so much activity with them. It's very easy to get into, the cost is fairly low, and the racing is just as much fun. I would like to see it a legal class so that no matter which club event you go to the specs/rules are the same.
The paralleling limit is rather strange. I would like to hear an explanation from the org's electric chairs about why that was put in. In my opinion they need to get rid of that for sure!
Somewhere there is a 10,000mAh limit. That's driving the guys crazy because the new G3 batts don't come in 5000's, they are 5500's! DOH!
Nice... I can see your point then...

The cartoon you chose for Wilmer is killing me !!!
Sorry Bill, but thats too funny.
Oh, and Bill tell them all about that SV 27 ride you experienced at the Nat's.
I think the Wave Blasters got another SV convert.
That Cartoon is still killing me !!!!

We raced with the Nitro guys several times this year... They DO want to get involved with FE, but they always... ALWAYS, state that the rules are a mess and don't make sense... Go figure...
Our Spec Boats really got them eager to jump in, however... Too bad they aren't "real" classes...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA
