Why do we need multiple organizations for rules/ insurance etc???? Can't they just be merged into one, or is this another branch of the government????

So I looked at the rules, now maybe I'm missing something, but if I want to race LSH, I have to remove my UL-1's motor and install a brushed 700?????

              Or am I missing something????

Have to....seems as though there are several organizations looking for me to hand over cash,,or else I'll have to pay extra when I race at the others sanctioed events.

Screw e'm all and lets start one just for FE with common sense rules .

Pure LSH uses brushed motors. "P SPEC Sport Hydro" (or something like that ) uses the SPEC motors like your UL-1. Confused yet?

There has been discussion of just that by some of us but never followed through on. Unless you get a lot of members, you can't afford to run the organization and then no matter what you do, somebody will always bitch about it.

Typically, if you belong to one organization and go to a meet sanctioned by the other, you can just pay a $10 fee for that race to be covered under the insurance. No real need to belong to both in my opinion. Most people are just local racers and join whichever organization their local club(s) belong to.

                        Doby,
What really matters is what the clubs allow. I don't know of anyone wanting to run 700's anymore. Everyone at the Nats ran proboat/SV or UL1's. In all the spec running.

Agreed, then why can't the rules be updated by the so called "governing bodies" at anything other than a snails pace?

They are still listing NiCd's and NiMh !!!!!!!! For sanity's sake, just list max voltages and get rid of the chemistry nonsense.

Remember, a club can run any class with their rules if they want. Just won't count for records, etc. Our club has instituted a new P SPEC Cat class. If in Namba or IMPBA rules, I believe they can only be run in offshore? Could be wrong.

Do you see a place for 3S in there? Remember Herb yelling for 3S, 5S, etc? I remember him being peeved because IMPBA just wouldn't listen. Look at your own rule book, 4S, 6S, 8S, 10S!

If I am missing something somewhere please correct me! Wouldn't be the first time and I am open to elucidation.
Jim you really need to get out once in awhile, especially if your gonna pick up the poop stick.

I guess it's safe to say you didn't vote ehh?

If you don't like the way things are write your own proposal and send it to your Dist, Director. If you aren't represented yet (Herbs passing) send it to me and I'll submit it.

BTW The IMPBA is working on a new website that should be up and running shortly. Online registration, voting, updated rules ect.
