You put the cap board on wrong? It looks like the negative is on the positive side.

Ha ha, cant nothing by you guys. Yup, I dont know why, but for some reason I wasnt running on all cylinders today and made a boo-boo. Im hoping the ESC is ok. Im not to worried about blasting a brand new cap board, but I am pissed the resulting explosion was so great, it damaged the gelcoat on my hull. I was kind of curious when I hooked it up, there was no initial spark.. Just a few moments of silence and then it sounded like someone opened fire on me..

Looks like a cat threw up on it or you drug it threw the mud and stepped on the cap board. But yea, (-) usually doesn't go with red. It's a bummer either way.

Well luckily Steven at OSE gets everything to me in about three days, which is why Im not too worried about the cap board. Only thing I am waiting on is the flexshaft from Venom, and we know the story that goes with that....

Wow! Will that cap board help save the ESC? I'm still learning about them...

Yes, I believe capacitors help reduce voltage surges to the ESC. Someone can explain in more detail or correct me.

Well, hopefully that is the case here. I think I will be ordering caps when I order my 150...

I wish. These freakin manufacturers need to put out some touch up paint or gel coat so we can keep our rigs looking purdy

Good luck getting any matching paint from Venom...

How about a large decal over the affected area? After you patch it up a bit.

Yea, I'll see if I can find a gelcoat to match it, if not, that may be the only option. However I really dont want to ruin the scale look of the KOS..

Hopefully the caps Ka-Bow didn't let the juice through to the esc. If it did, the esc is most like DOA also.
