    New to me Vac-U Pickle

Got my new-to-me Vac-U Pickle today. Got it on Ebay. for $225.
THis is my first FE boat. So I am super new to the boating side of R/C. Been running R/C crawlers for a few years now.

ETTI 125 amp ESC without BEC (run a receiver pack)
    Stock UL-1 motor
Prop just says "45" on it. Any thought on this? or recommendations for a metal prop. I would like to stay with a 4 cell lipo and this esc combo for now.
Here is a video from the guy I bought it from. Theses speeds seem fine with me for now.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtqjbzwAPaw
Looks like a Solinger strut and rudder.
    Hitec 225mg steering servo

I also got two pretty new Zippy 5 cell 5000mah lipo's. It doesn't seem like they are going to fit in this boat, not even one. Bummer, nice paper weights now.

What would make more since for a battery?
    (2) 7.4v (2c) lipos wired in series? or One 14.8v (4c)? Guess it comes down to battery size. I was planning on running the boat this weekend but no can do without batteries!

    Any thoughts?

Thanks, Guess that's what the 45 means.

How is that price for the parts listed? $225. Hull is 98% good. Hooked it up and everything works.

I'll do some searching for a 4 cell.

I think you will probably need two 2s1p packs. Here is a good price on some... http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s..._20C_Lipo_Pack

looks like u got a good deal. I would run that prop a have ran those in a ul-1 and they work fine. if you go with a metal prop a m440 would be a good start. two 2s packs will fit for sure. im not 100% sure if one 4s will. Just don't run it to long at first and watch your temps. but "it should be fine the way it is" have fun and welcome to FE.

Thanks for link, I'll check em out. Edit: wholly geez those packs have a super good price. I could get 4! or 6!
I saw someone else on the board running these in the pickle.

Great find Shane. Check on Big Papas thread too, he is setting on up as well. I really like these boats and will be adding one further down the road.

I can vouch for the zippys, I use the Rhino packs 4900 mah 20C and they rock for sporting. at $26 a pop, you CAN get a bunch. I like to get some 3S as well so I can do different combinations, but if you don't have an application, might as well get 4S.

Were you thinking of running those 5S packs you sold me in this guy? I am guessing the 45mm might be a little big for the set up.

                      What is total length?

I have had great luck with Elite lipos that Pat sells from RCLipos and The Hyperion G3's are just flat out unreal!

My son runs them in his UL1 and he lets off into the corners and punches it out of the corners and jump in speed is amazing! And the Hyperion's are very nicely priced! Especially from South River RC boats!

Also if it matters both vendors are stateside ... I know I know they are still selling products made outside of the US --- but at least in my mind some of my money stays stateside!

Yeah, the guys I bought the boat said one would fit. I just didn't like jamming a 5 cell lipo inside that hull. What length are you talking about?

Cool I will check them out. Jesse gave me some battery money! He bought the 5 cells off of me.
