    Deep vee questions

As I've said before I am a newbie to FE brushless boating. I've done a plenty of boats in my day but not any brushless. I have a 33" ABS deep vee hull that I'd like to experiment with. Putting in the hardware is no problem but motors and batteries are another story. I picked up 2 motors cheap, both Hackers. One is a 7L and the other is a 13L. I also have a CC 120HV esc that I picked up at a reasonable price. My questions are as follows:
Would either of these motors be ok for a hull of this size?
    What batteries would I use?
What charger would be good to start with since I've not tried Lipos before?
I have a power supply from the days of doing 24 cell nicad packs so a DC only charger is no problem.
Are the 2.4 gig radios the way to go now? I've been seeing a lot about them.
And lastly, where should I start with for a prop. I have a few around here and hope I might have one to start with
I just want a mild setup to play with around here.
After I am comfortable with this I will be trying other boats and of course going faster so I want to have a charger that will be able to charge bigger and better packs than what I start with.
Any help is greatly appreciated. And thanks in advance.

Not really, both are small for this sze boat. If I HAD to try one, I would try the
540 13L. But for spot running you would be better off looking for a 540 9xl or 10xl

What batteries would I use? 4s 20c 4000 or better.

First, You should reasearch and ready about lipos before jumping in. The hyperion chargers are great.

2.4 is working out great. Especially with the new Tactic systems.

I will be more blunt than Steven....suprise....what is your budget, run time and speed expectations? As there are many options based on your reply. Do you have a picture or brand/model name of the hull.

As a side note welcome to this forum and your endeavour to participate in FE boating

For testing hypothetical setups, this program is great: http://www.rcboataholic.com/fe_calc.htm

Search this forum for more info on using it.

The boat is an old Graupner Portofino. The first one, not the II. Speed- in the 30's Run time- 4 to 5 minutes Budget- no problem

          Thanks
