As an aside, I just received my Dark Horse Shovel Nose from Raptor 347 and it is a beauty and can be setup and powered for a reasonable cost. The big boats...34"and up are very expensive to setup. I just think that for the future of FE boating we should be looking at the cost to fun value, especially for newbies who get all hung up on how fast will it go and are turned off from the hobby as they have spent a lot of cash on a hull that can not achieve the speeds they desire and burnt a lot of equipment in that perceived goal
I will now climb off my soap box!!

Steven, I think you missed my point. Let me restate it. As long as people won't step up and pay for quality hulls from the original manufacturer, there will be knock-off artists splashing hulls of inferior quality and selling them cheap. That's all I meant. If you will read my post again you will see I am talking about American companies, not the imports. You are reading too much into what I said.

Since you and I import the stuff as dealers where do we stand on that statement?

Personally as a consumer, I give my fair amount of biz to the local shop, but if I find something online thats similar and lesser priced, should I just buy it from him? Most of the LHS's stuff comes from overseas anyways. The only difference is there are about 2-3 more hands taking a profit, until it reaches the consumer in the USA.

Totally agree Darin. There are quite a few RTR's out there that use 3S. They run great and are a blast. Unfortunately, if someone wants to race, the orgs don't recognize 3S. They go 2S, 4S, 6S, etc.

Gosh knows a bunch of us tried with IMPBA but it fell on deaf ears.

Well... 3S to me has always made more sense that 2S... Would be interesting to see what a class structure would look like using 3S, 4S, and Open... Or 3S, 6S, and Open... 4S, however, just works with SOOO many motors, etc. right now...

Maybe open classes with 3S, 6S, and Open

and 4S for a spec set of classes...

Now, however, we are back up to a bunch of classes again... though not as many as we have now...

And what do you find offensive about that Doug? I am simply saying that as long as there are cheap-a$$es that will not pay for a quality hull from a quality American manufacturer, there will always be people 'splashing' them (and of lesser quality) at cheaper prices. I'm not sure how you can argue with that?

No arguement on that point Jim.
My fleet is made up of Seaducer and Rico monos, Read Eagle Wild Thing, Vac-U-Pickle, and a Stewart Stealth O/B Tunnel. No imports in my camp.

I do have some German controls for SAWs, but as soon as we build one in the US that will make the trip reliably, I'll have a few.
