    Mean machine motor

Has anybody used a SV 27 motor in this boat ?
I have an 8XL in it now and I am considering the SV motor to allow me to race it in the LSO spec class
I was running a SV 27 boat in this class but where we race it seems to be very choppy all the time and out of 8 boats that start the 4 min race we are lucky if 3 finish

    8XL 2000KV X442 prop
    SV 1800KV ?????????

I know the 8XL motor is good for around 1000watts but I could not find how much the SV is rated at

SV being a lower KV but I want to be able to run for 4 min I thought I would try the X442 but I also have X440/3 and a M445

So has anybody tried this motor in this boat ??(or is it too heavy to not burn things out)

Use the UL-1 motor! A guy in our club is running one quite successfully in SPEC. We are running a SPEC cat class in our club rather than offshore. I don't remember what prop he's using. You could PM him. His name is OBRIEN.

I think the motor is rated to about 750w (max efficiency).
My choice for a starting prop would be your M445.
I've had mine in a 32" cat with an X645 with good speed but this might be too much prop for your 4 min run time.
An M642. might work well? Just a thought.
Don't have a Mean Machine myself.

I've set up a Titan 29 for LSO at the Nat's last year and also at WW V with an SV 27 motor. Ran fine with a X442. I just tested a UL-1 motor in the same boat with a smallish prop & the temps were not good for a 4 min. race. I'm going back to the SV 27 motor. My 2 cents.

I have run a UL1 motor and esc in the mean machine and run both a X642 and m445 and 545 using 2 X 2S 4900mah zippy Rhino packs for power. I cannot imagine it would run much different with the SV27 motor. The boat runs like a scalded cat. I am so pleased with the result that I am getting another Mean Machine hull to set up for LSO.

I have to get a new hull because I did a ski jump up a concrete ramp after losing the rudder to a turtle or other underwater object. Gotta remember to let off the throttle in those turns...
