    hydra 240 replacements

As most of you know I had to return my 240's - I have 2 Etti 150 Opto's that i have added caps to, my question can I power both with 1 battery using a Y adapter or do I need to run seperate battery packs? These do not have a BEC.

I have not done that before, but I have ran two Novaks for a two motor rock crawler. one thing I found out is that you want all leads to be the same lenght. you don't want one speed control with short leads and the other long. It starts a fire!!! oups I know. and i only ran it that way once.

I imagine each should have its own source. Just my opinion.

Running 2 esc's off one pack ?? Can I assume you are running a twins for a Cat ?
There has been a lot of discussion about this before and as far as I see the only valid reason not to do so is if one esc shorts it will take the pack with it and possibly the other esc too.

When I get round to doing a twin in a cat, I will be running parallel power. This will be a single or paralleled packs into a common power bar and then out to the esc's.
This keeps the power to each esc the same.

In summary there is not technical reason why you can not do what you intend.
