New motor for 32" Deep Vee

    Hi guys,
    I have a 32" Deep Vee with 180A Seaking esc and 3660/ 2726Kv motor running on 6s2p 5200mah lipo and 43mm prop.
I bought it used and a week ago in my first attemp to run it the motor stopped working(it must have stucked since the water cooling system of the boat was blocked and I didn't notice).
I want to replace it and from what I've read in the forum I mush choose a motor between 1100kv - 1800kv. I am thinking of a 3660 motor around 1500kv or should I choose a 3674 but in the same kv it draws more Amper.
Please share with me your opinions...

    P.S
I have smaller Seaking motor 3600kv and 60A esc, do you think they are too small for this hull?
    thanks

60 amp would be too little on this hull also.

            Hi guys,
thank you for your quick answers, which one should I choose 11T or 12T?
and another problem I have if you can help me, the hall takes water in from the teflon tube that goes to the prop, it is not connected firmly and I though to put marine grase in the tube, will this stop water from getting in?
this is the boat I have: http://cgi.ebay.com/32-deep-vee-ARTR...d=p3286.c0.m14

              thats a great hull

take a piece of fuel tubbing cut it about 3/16" long.......slide it up the flex shaft and across the prop shaft and ram it agains the drive dog...then when you put the shaft back in ...slide it in till the fuel tube hits the end of the strut ...when the flex winds up under torque it will make the fuel tube act as a seal

              works for me

I would go with the 11xl but ask others

Ok bustitup, I'll try your idea plus I will fill the hole tube with grase, hope this will fix, it just seems straight to me the way they fix this boat...
                thanks!

I use the fuel tubing method as well, but at the other end, inside the hull. I cut it about 3/8 long and slide it half onto the stuffing tube, and half on the flex. Not a drop gets in the hull. I use a small epoxy brush and only apply grease to the cable while inserting into the stuffing tube. Works perfect for me...

                    Hi,
I have that same boat. I run a 9XL in mine, 200a SkyWing ESC with ETTI watercooling, X447, and 4S lipos. Insane speed, good temps.

Re water coming into hull, it is probably coming from where drive cable attaches to stinger drive. There is a 5mm slot between stinger drive and boat, where drive cable is visible. Make sure you cover this with generous amount of marine grease. I run mine in salt water regularly, and after running i rinse with fresh water and re-grease this part.

                    Enjoy your boat.

                    Good luck.

What run times are you looking at and if you are going to run 6S2P as you already state, look at the Feiago 580L series and change out the ESC for a high voltage design. My 2 cents

Tiqueman and Fenlax thank you for your tips. Flying Scotsman the motor that got burned was like feigao 9t large(exactly same specs). Why should I change the esc with a bigger one when the L motor series draw less ampers than the XL. I don't know what play time to expect from the battery since the motor got burned at the first run. Guys I want to order the motor to finish with this matter so I can try the boat so please help me with this. I think 11T or 12T xl will have more torgue but I don't know about the top speed since they have low kv.

                          That is a 580L motor

This 580L "Long" Sized Feigao Motor is 76 mm in Length.

Click for Feigao 580 L Motor Chart

                          Motor Specs:
12-32 NiMh or 4s to 8s Lipo cells in a 30"- 40" mono or hydro.
1400 - 1800 Watts Maximum with proper cooling.
                          45mm Diameter x 76mm long
5mm Output Shaft for use with 5mm Couplers.
25mm Mounting Hole Spacing. Uses 3mm screws.
                          545 grams
                          Recommended rpm range 25k - 35k RPM.
2-Pole Neo Magnets & Compressed Windings.

Way more torque than an XL series and can run on 6S to 7S the XL series and chosen ESC are up to you on 6S power

A feigao 580 with a 45 mm diameter plus water cooling jacket on top would probably protrude through canopy of this boat. Plus if you use 6s to 7s, you might need to incur extra charge of changing your ESC to a high voltage one. I doubt a seaking can take 7s for an extended period of time.

I would stick to an XL with 36mm diameter and keep your ESC
