    Hydra 120 ??????

    Ok Guys help me out!

We had the boats out running last weekend and 1 our monos ran great - brought it in unplugged it ran a couple of other boats and called it a day!

Took this mono out to run tonight and the esc won't arm. It goes thru the 1st & 2nd set of chimes but won't finish arming! I also notice than when I plug the batteries in the steering servo freezes ... unplugged and the servo will move plug in the batteries and it returns to center and freezes! Any guesses????
We did it with a Bang!

Wet receiver is the most likely given the stated symptoms. Any time the steering servo acts funny I suspect the receiver. It shouldn't be the servo since the ESC doesn't work right either - unless everything got wet!

Open up the receiver, pull out the board, pull the xtal (if it has one) and blow it all off. Use a hair dryer to heat it up to facilitate drying - don't get it too hot! Reassemble and try it in the boat again.

Thanks Jay I have another receiver that I can swap out! I'll give it a try tomorrow! It did have a little water in the hull but not a lot!

all it takes to really cause problems is one small drop of water in the wrong place... a can of corrosion x or 80% isoprop alchohal can remedy all sorts of water related ills :-)

I had a similar thing happen this summer, after racing like a bandit to get the boat done I forgot to prep it with my normal coat of corrosion x or similar. It ran great on day one, but on day 2 it wouldn't arm at all. I took a shot and sprayed it down with the corrosion x and its been running like a champ since. It must have been condensation, because the inside of the boat never got wet.

Hope this doesn't sound dumb. Had a fellow racer having the same problem. Multiple people tried to set the beeps (sorry don't have any other way to say it). When it was my turn to try instead of cramming to full throttle, nuetral, and brake , I would do it rather slow. Worked on the first try. Maybe it was just luck but it did arm. Hope it works for some one else.
