    Noooo - Viking Funeral!

Aw man, I burnt up my Hydro-1 rigger. It looks like a Mini-Y/Starhip from Minicat Racing USA but it's actually a special larger model in the same line that's not normally available. I'm so mad. I had a blow over and didn't know I cracked my hull seam. Since it landed on it's feet I kept motoring and then KERPLOOOEY. Smoke is not good! I figured your morbid sense of curiosity would enjoy a shot from the morgue! Oh well, you gotta pay to play :)

I have had mild burn ups too

What is blown, burnt and dead ??
A motor will often survive, ESC's can be bought back after wet or heat.

Tell us what you have or more importantly, did have !!
This is not so that I can laugh, but so that I may learn.

Bummer on the fire and I do know what it is like.
            See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I WISH the hull survived. Hull failure was the cause of the electronics failure. I guess I can reglass the hull though...

This was an evaluation unit at Minicat Racing... Don't know if Jim will get any more.

Close. Like I said, it's the model named Hydro-1. It's a larger version of the Starship/Mini-Y.

I was going pretty easy on it because I was having trouble getting effective steering... (No turn fin, trying to figure out a good battery position. Sadly this was a brand new model - third run!) Temps on previous runs were not an issue. I was not over loading it. Although I had just done a full corrosion-x bath on the esc, I believe it took on significant water due to the cracked hull seem. So it shorted and fried bad. The ESC was a Tenshock 110A. The Tenshock motor should survive to run another day but I have not tested it yet..

Wow! Sorry to hear! Tape the seam where it split. Mix up some 1 hour epoxy and thin it to thick cream consistency with denatured alcohol. Make a good sized batch. Pour it into one corner of the hull and then rotate the hull around, letting the epoxy run around the seams. You may want to do a pour in a couple of different places. When it sets up, you hull will be stronger than ever.

Your motor may well be OK.

I have one more of these left in White. She's pricey though. I sold that one to Mick at danged near cost....$500. These are a hot boat in Europe. Winning a lot of races in Hydro 1 class.

Hahaaha. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Wasn't it you that liked the diuble-ugly spaceship looking thing from China that I refuse to sell? I think the Hydro is pretty. Go figure, eh?

Yep. I have ONE of the Hydro-1's in stock. It's a MUCH larger version of the Starship.
