Measuring flex shaft with a caliper

Hi guys . I just bought a digital caliper from HomeDepot. I'm trying to figure out what size flex shaft i have in my boat. So how do i measure the flex shaft cable to see if its .150 or .130? I measured the diameter of the flex shaft cable, and its 17.53 mm Please

Your caliper should be switchable to mm or inch! If not, take it back. Go to Harbor Freight. The caliper will be a lot cheaper there. Are you sure about that reading? 17.53mm is .69" ! That's huge! Did you zero the caliper before you measured? .130 would be 3.302mm and .150 would be 3.81mm

Yea, it is switchable to mm, inch, and fraction. I closed it , and zero the caliper. The new measurement is 3.69mm, and 0.14 50in. So. Does this mean its a .150 flex shaft cable?
