    out-of-balance drive dog problem

    No, this has nothing to do with the Iditarod ;

    While performing maintenence on my ball-bearing strut, I thought I'd see how the shaft/drive dog/prop assembly was balanced by holding the strut in my hand and spinning the whole assembly, which it does quite nicely ( Thank you Mr. Wohlt !).
    With a super Kintec-balanced prop, the assembly pointed out that the drive dog had a very obvious heavy spot on the set-screw side. With all the trouble I took to super-balance the prop I'm not liking the out-of-balance contribution the drive dog makes. I tried dremeling the dog some to no avail. Any comments/ideas ?

    If it is the set screw throwing it out then drill a hole opposite and thread it and put a set screw in it. Never heard of a drive dog making much difference but I guess it could.
