    BIG hull outboard questions

Been out of boats for a LONG time

My basic goal for the project is 30mph fun sport boat. Something I can play around with when we have our RockCrawling comps at the lake...

    What I have is:

an Aeromarine Challenger Classic hull (Hull, L.O.A.: 43"/Beam:14") I picked up on ebay, its in really good shape just needs a little retouching to be perfect.

2 K&B 3.5 outboard lower legs, 1 I have been running on a hydro with a 700bb and a 440 prop (pushes the boat to just over 50mph on 4s).

1 CF 3.5 outboard lower leg (unknown manufacture)

Would 1 outboard be able to push it to this speed?

    Motor suggestions?

Battery wise Im thinking I have some brandnew 3s 5000mah 30c packs that i bought for a buggy conversion that I promptly sold.

I very much doubt you would obtain your goal on that size hull and powertrain. Are you willing to look at an inboard powertrain.

I was originally planning to use the big graupner jet drive and paint it up to match my 1:1 but, the hull seems to have too much V to work well for the jet pickup. I am really wanting to try to outboards to be different.

They do make some lower leg units for 25cc gass engines. I saw them somewhere,,,not sure where????

Im familiar with that outboard but, Im pretty well set on going electric.

Originally I was thinking dual 8xl motors (one on each outboard). The hull is big but its not that big (at least to me).

Your hull is huge and for an electric outboard and your proposed power, your options and desired goals are slim to none

Ill admit, its a big hull...

Knowing that I am set on electric and would really like to use the outboards, what would a realistic speed goal be?

If you were going inboard, what would you use? I would think I should be able to adapt most inboard setups to outboard. I realize they will take some work, I just want something noone else has.

Im not planning to be doing any racing, just want to cruise around the lake and throw some rooster tails.
