It is amazing how different it runs and how much faster it looks just adding 7mph, which is far more than I thought. COMPLETELY different boat.

This was on one of my previously owned Reedy 5000mah 2S 20C paried w/ a new Turnigy 5000 mah 3S 20C. I wonder what would happen had I got the 30/40C 3S and paired it w/ the new 30/40C 2S 5000mah?????? Maybe in a few weeks...

Oh and on another note. 2 minute run, motor 121F, 3S 95F, 2S 104F, ESC 109F

I got problems... So I charged up the 3S 5000 20C and thought maybe Id get a bit more out of it if paired w/ one of the new 5000 30C, just for a quick "on camera" run. I went down to the lake, video cam in hand. Reset the GPS, filmed it at "0mph", strapped it in the boat, connected batts, turned on switch, got arming beep, hit throttle and rather than winding out as it usually does, it just gave a short, maybe 1/4 throttle burst. I hit the throttle again thinking I just didnt get on it and got the same thing. I brought it back into the house, tried everything from switching back to the bec in the esc, diff batts in the controller and paired the 3S back to the 2S I ran yesterday. Then I eliminated the 3S w/ another 2S and it works fine. I also tried re-programming the esc with no luck...

Any ideas??????? Maybe, not take the video camera next time?

How's the capacitor on the ESC look? Does it look puffy?

Everything look sand smells fine.

It was recommended to try easing into the throttle very slowly. That, on the bench, seems to be working. You can jam on it w/ 4S and it winds way out, as fast as you can pull the trigger. Thats how I was trying to do it while arming on 5S. Guess you cant do that. I will get her wet tomorrow and see what happens.

Just got my 2nd 5S run. She ran beautifully. AND... I got it on film.. which wasnt so beautiful. Between my camera being stupid and glitching and couldnt get the light setting to do anything but stay on the setting it was on which was whiting out a bit from the morning sun... oh and filming it myself so I wasnt looking at the screen along side the camera... BUT... I got a recorded documented 49.3mph run. I will try and get someone to film it for me asap

I didnt think Id be close to 50 without dropping some dough into it. Im way more than happy.
So it it safe to say that with my temps not screamin, its a good, reliable set up? I know with electronics, nothing is certain. Especially when mixed with anything involved with the word "marine", But am I doing any damage to anything if I continue 5S in this set up?

I believe the ESC is rated to 21v and 55 amps peak. Your temps look ok. I would be concerned with the use of the BEC on 5s. In the BJ thread you should find info. to others who have run with 5s with issues. But if it's working for you, then go for it.
