Back to the purpose of this thread. I was trying to find an alternate to Stevens 4200 6 cell packs, since he was out. Here is a good deal on IB3600 NiMH batts. These are Intellect batts not Elite. Their cost is nearly as cheap as the Chinese made batteries, but these are the most durable NiMH cells out. Better get some while you still can. The service is in the same class as Offshoreelectrics. "THE BEST".

Click on create a pack (stick or flat) and also order how many IB3600 cells you need.. Tell them length of your leads and deans connectors.

      Code:
I ordered 4 - 6 cell IB3600 NiMH flat packs from the Battery Store with deans.
In less than five minutes someone called me and asked some questions about wire
length and connectors, then told me he would send them out today. It is already 1:20 pm.
They cost me 128.80 for 24 cells. That comes to $32.20 for each prebuilt 6-pack. I am impressed.

Ordered the batts on Friday and arrived Wednesday. They have heavy wire and deans connectors, but the thin spot welded tabs on them. Grrrrrrrr!

i see you made the same mistake i did.
you need to let them know you wanted the good batt bars, usually a $1.00 per cell upgrade.
i used cbp and had the same problem.
luckily i have a batt guy in town so he fixed me up.(promatchracing.com)

while it may not be as good as removing the tabs and attaching the bars straight to the cells...one can solder the bars over the tabs. I've done it with reasonably good results.

Come on just use a pair of good needle nose plyers and pull them dang worthless tabs off off. They are just spot welded on then sand the surface lightly and tin them before you solder them.

Going to have to get some dang bars first, before I can fix anything. Grrrrrrrr

if you soldered over the tin tabs, wouldnt you still have the same crappy connections? I mean yeah you have the bars, but theyre still taking current through spot welds and then through your bars.

                          a) dunno bout your soldering...but mine isn't that neat as to solder a bar(which is the same width or wider than the tab) w/o laping over onto the cell. b) for me the problem areas with tabs is the part between cells (least thats where the shrink melted 1st). its not an ideal fix...but seems good enough for a 45a draw.

I took the shrink wrap off the battery packs. The tabs literally fell off some of the cells. I would not buy the custom built packs from this place. Very poor quality construction.
