How to implement bullet connector system?

I have to replace Deans Ultra (60A) connectors with bullets on some of my models since I'm clearly overloading them (over heating). I'm going to standardize on the Castle 6.5mm (120A). This seems like a custom solution meaning that I don't see any better paired connectors. Is this the best way to go or is there a better solution?

Assuming big bullets are the way to go, I'm not sure if I should be using a male and female on each battery and a corresponding Female/male on each ESC. Or if I should go with all male on the ESCs and all female on the batteries. Any consideration for series and parallel adapters? I run mostly series.

How are you guys working with high current? Thanks for your kind input. -Mick

Those bullets are the best. They are pretty hard to pull apart though. As stated you can do a male female setup but be sure that you completely have the female covered in shrink tubing or it may touch the male as it's exposed.

If you prefer to look at the wiring colors, then female on the battery and male on the other side will work, but you have to always be 100% sure and look more than once, even twice.

Corresponding male and female on batteries. Too easy to get in a hurry and short out a pack. I have personally always done it this way. Its easy to do it right the first time.
