I love that boat. It looks great. I was thinking of building something like that or mabe a sailboat this winter...something to slow me down a bit from constant SAW runs all the time. Great Job !!!!!!

thanks for comments guys, It was an ebay find, in a pretty rough state, I didnt know what it was at the time, just liked the look of it, and I like the sixties/seventies style of boats. It was identified by the Fairey Owners club as a 28, made famous in the Bond film "From Russia with Love", although not the boat bond drove, it was the chase boat.
It also won various races, cross channel etc, and was regarded as a pretty cool boat in its day. The Hull just begs to go fast, its so stable, and planes great, infact the rougher the water, the more fun it is. I have just almost finished the cosmetics, and have tried various running gear, mostly graupner 700 bb turbos, but it just wasnt giving the grin factor. It now has an align 600 brushless, with a castle creation barracuda esc, hence thinking about lipo instead of getting more nimh, but I am WAY!! over budget now, so hopefully the turnigy 3s, 5000mah 30c packs, two of to give 22.2v, will make it shift, for at least 15mins. Thanks for all the advice, there was another thread about it here
