    Painting Plastic Parts

I wanted to paint some plastic parts on several projects, and am kind of overwhelmed at the number of products out there to do this. Can you guys offer some suggestions on what works, and what does not?

If this is a double post my apologies, I searched but did not find much in the way of products.

Thanks for the help yet again fellas.

Krylon Fusion is made for plastic otherwise an adhesion promoter (dupli-color for example) is used before the base coat. If you opt for the adhesion promoter you need to follow the directions to the letter or you could have a mess on your hands.

I was actually thinking about using the fusion, have you used this before?

I used Krylon primer, then 2 coats of Krylon satin (color choice), and finally 3 coats of clear crystal enamel.

Yes I have used it before on this cat. The red and white are krylon fusion and then I added the other details and cleared.

CLEAR COAT ...Chuck, that is it, you are struck off my list of friends.

Actually, it looks not bad for a rookie auto base coat now I understand

I used several different tapes. 12" Transfer tape commonly used by sign makers, various widths of masking tape, and 1/4" blue fineline tape. Then I used an airbrush and automotive base coat colors for the details and finished with a catalized clear. Somewhere I have pictures that I took during the different parts of the process. I will see if I can find them.

Douggie I had to clear it because of the auto base coat colors I used for the details.
