    un-joining?

    does anyone have any tips on un-joining a hull and deck?

    i just picked up an old boat at a garage sale and i want to redo it but i would like to get inside of it and really redo it right

    its abs if that makes a difference....

    Pretty tough on an abs hull without tearing it up. Glass hull is a bit easier. What type of joint does it have?

      it looks to be glue like ca but im not sure. what method do you use on glass?

        Sorry, I meant what type of seam does it have, flush, overlap, etc? On ABS they likely used a solvent. Pretty much welds the two pieces together.

          it overlaps i was going to trim it down anyway so i might just cut it unless anyone else has any ideas

                that could work :) is their any type of solvant to cut through ca glue because it could work on this

                    The only thing that will cut CA will also eat the hell out of the ABS plastic! Don't go there!

                      Yea, I was gonna say, I dont think you will find a solvent that can eat through CA glue without melting the ABS. I would find someone with a bandsaw and try to just cut it off
