Hello all, im NEW here as of today and just wanted to say hello! I love rc boating and want to expand my possibilities and learn about FE boats. Im currently into GAS boats and have run them for about 7 years now, and i take residence over at JRCBD.com. A topic over there about a FE return boat using fishing line to retrieve gas boats sparked my inrest in FE. I began searching the web looking into FE boats and now would like to get involved, so here i am!! I have NO knowledge at all about these boats and would love to get involved!!. I think i would like to get a UL1 or a Miss elam to start out, what would you guys reccomend i get? Is there any for sale out there? Any help would be great and i hope to meet some new friends here and learn along the way. Im in a boat club and live in NEWJERSEY , we have a great spot to run so im READY to get my feet wet in the electric world. Thanks guys !!

Welcome aboard!!!!!! If you like to build boats you can buy all you need right here on this site plus all the guys are great and will help you out and point you in the right direction. How fast you want to go should be the first question asked for yourself so you can buy the right hull, then go from there.Good luck, Gary

You have come to the right place to learn about FE boats. Alot of guys will be more than happy to assist you. But there are some questions that they may ask:

What Hull size and type?
motor and battery configurations?
What kind of budget?
Experience level with FE and boats?
Type of running sport or race?
Water conditions?

These are just some of the questions you may be ask. Glad you joined and once again, welcome.

Hello guys!! thanks for the reply, Im in the Wayne area of NJ. looking for a hydro style boat, just for pleasure no racing yet. i have gas boats well into the 2000 range so im not looking for that. Maybe a UL1 with some mods to run in the 50-55 range would be my goal. I wouldnt mind spending the cash as long as its reliable and FAST. would really like a hydro.any ideas.?

For batteries I would recommend getting the new Hyperion 35C VX cells and one of the Hyperion chargers. They can both be purchased from www.rclipos.com.

What radio do you presently own?
What are your building skills?
The UL1 is a good choice for an RTR with structural modifications as described in the UL1 forum on this site. The last shipment from China has the updates but your local hobby store may have old stock.
