MOST of Prather prop is 1.6" pitch, let say if you choice a Prather prop with same dia with X4xx prop then you will have more top speed and also more drag and amp draw, i have great result with Prather prop with my hydro and cat.

whoa!!!!...that was some quick answers to info I need

I just picked up 3 new S&B prathers from northernboater

                b230
                b235
                b245

                and I allready have a s240

my 34" sprintcat with a 1527/1y on 6s2p I guess I will start with the 230 and work up

the boat seems to be getting pretty heavy while i am laying things out

I would like to be able to oval race at a comfortable 60mph and prop up for saw runs and hopefully hit 80

                feasable?

                thanks guys

depends on the motor you are using. You can get away with bigger props on a lower KV motor with mucho torque. But ... as the KV goes up the props get smaller.

Bustitup, I think with you...feasible, possible, "Get 'er dun!"

I believe you can do it.

Mike Martin did it with a 26" DF hull.

You won't get near 80 mph with the 1527/1Y. I did hit the mid-80s with the SprintCat running a 1527/1D, but had lots of ESC issues - plenty of amps with that setup!

I tried the p235 with the 1527/1Y and couldn't get it to work very well - but then I didn't do too much testing with it. I had better luck with the x450/3 and x457/3, although the latter is really too much prop for a boat this size - I usually run that prop on my 41" 10S cat. I'm not certain of any heat issues with the x457/3 for oval racing, but the boat was almost undriveable with it. I had to ease into the throttle coming out of turns or the cat would launch itself vertically. I did come close to 60 mph with it though. Still looking for the "perfect" prop.
