Space between motor coupler and stuff tube?

Is there a rule of thumb for how much space between a motor coupler for a flex shaft and the stuff tube?

not really, but you should try to keep the space as little as possible....if the space between the flex shaft and the stuffing tube is great enough, there is a chance the cable might "knot" when it is torqued (like from a complete stop to full throttle kind of torque)

in general 0.5" or less 0.25" is a good(imo) distance.

I had .130 cable knot up with a 1 inch space between the coupler and tube, using a 10XL/trans on 18 cells. IMO anyone should use a .150 cable with less than a 1/2 inch gap, if using more than 12 cells.

I am using .150. It looks like im gonna go for for a quarter inch. I am using the octura coupler. Hence the reason I bought it is because the site said the ose ones were out of stock.
