    UL1 programming issue?

Does anybody know if you can reprogram the UL1 ESC? It is acting like the low voltage cutoff is set too high. letting you power up to a point the shutting off.

My proboat ESC would do this and a simple reprogram session would set her straight.

Anybody have any pointers? and yes, batts were charged...

    Thanks
    J

I'm having similar issues with my UL1 controller that I am using in another boat that I just recieved.

LiPo Power on this forum was having similar issues on his UL1. He was sent a new controller as apparently its related to the capacitors failing.

I'd bet the esc is bad. Same happened to my ul-1 and it was a bad esc. As far as I know, there is no way to program it.

I don't see how an ESC can't be reprogrammable. This is exact same behavior as the proboat and all it was was the programming. I don't see how the ESC could be bad, it has done nothing out of the ordinary...

Different guts internally. Some IC's (Integrated Circuits) can be programmed, others can't. It all depends on what the manufacturer uses.

You said it is operating out of the ordinary in your first post. Sometimes when the Caps die, its internal damage and you won't see it physicaly.

Are you guys adding caps to the UL-1 escs??
If you're not, add them to your next one.

I ran on my UL-1 on a windy day, and could only use part throttle, next time out the boat would only run for 30 secs at a time.
Look carefully at the cap if the end is bulged at all or there is brown fluid around change the cap.
I added 2 that are double the rating of the original and all is good now.
