        Saleens, save your cash and buy an FM RC unit. AM is OK on sailboats and scale model boats. Do not use an AM unit on high speed boats. Yes I know the majority of RTR boats come with an AM unit. including the fast SV27, but use the best FM TX unit and RX reciever your budget will allow. An AM unit is prone to glitching, esp. the cheap RTR radios.

            A good choice but the RX receivers are very expensive, if you plan to run numerous boats, this can be a cash issue

                I would suggest you look at Hitec FM systems, their RX receivers are depending on single and dual conversion, are a good value. I personally use a CRX with Spectra.

                    Dual conversion is better, as it less prone to false or glitching signals. Look at their website to further understand.

                        Look at their RX products...also I checked Tower Hobbies price for 2.4 ghz RX Futaba 3 channel receivers they are $90.00

                            That is correct. There are no cheap answers to RC qualilty, this includes all the bits and pieces you may utilise.
