    Anodizing at home

Has anyone attempted this yet? I recently tried a few simple parts, and found that it is amazingly simple to do. If there is an interest I can post links to several good articles, and recommend a few good places for supplies.

Ok then, I will put together a post about it. Kind of a poor man's anodizing guide. Ive done about 5-6 pieces with pretty good luck, and amazingly enough the biggest expense was the power supply. (you will want to sustain 25 amps@12 volts, to get the best coating).

The rest is readily avail. chems, and some 5 gallon buckets.

Give me a day or two and Ill put together something.

Here is a quick link to kind of give you an idea. I DO NOT suggest buying this kit, the materials can be bought at the hardware store much much cheaper.

Here is another article that gives good basic info:

Rex, to answer you I have no idea, I did not use that in the anodizing I completed. Sorry.

I ran across this page earlier; http://www.engineeringhobbyist.com/p...ted/anodizing/ (which is where the Question about nickle acetate arose)
