    calculation for amps possible?

Is there any way to calculate: I run my boat for exactly 4 minutes and 20 seconds. I use 4500MAh's in that time. Is there a way to figure how many amps I am drawing? Other than getting a "watts up" meter or eagle tree. That is on 14.8V. Thanks

Oh wow, I thought of using the fecalc but not sure if it is accurate as a math calculation. However heck, If thats all I am drawing I have mucho more speed to gain. Thanks soo much!

        An easy way is

        (mah *60*60)/(seconds *1000) = Amps

Keep in mind this is only an average. It does not tell what your peaks are. What is your setup?

The peaks can be twice the average.

Depending on the motor and cells the spikes can be three to four times the average amp draw. This is what ESC desginers don't understand and why there are so many failures of ESCs even when run within the listed max amperage. I have datalogged spikes of well over 300 amps with NiMh cells - expect much higher with good LiPos.

Fluid, out of curiosity, could you describe the basic setup where you have seen spikes like that? EI. No. of cells, type of hull, length, and motor.

Thanks! => I know curiosity killed the cat, LOL!

If you get weeds arround the prop or a damaged drive train the amp draw will be huge. In the brushed days motor manufacturers would state a stalled amperage.
