    ESC temps

I'd like to get some thoughts from other boaters on what they think too high of an esc is. My current setup is 25.5 inch mono, feigao 8L 3200kv, 120 amp esc, 3s 1p 25c 5000 mah on x637 prop. motor temp today, 105 degrees Farenheit, batt was 132 esc was 155, caps at 95. Water was rough so it was in and out a lot. Sure I had some amp spikes there! LMK

I think this little gadget will help you fine tune your set up better.

155 for ESC is too high, I think. Better to have 140 max. Check your cooling or add separate cooling for motor and esc or try a smaller prop.

Seemed high to me too. I guess I've gotta consider that the boat was in the car, in the sun before it ran. Everything started out at mid nineties. Water temp was at least 80. A second pickup may be a goo idea. I am running thru the esc first though so it may not matter much. I'm gonna run on glass, then check temps. It may have been high since the water was so rough. Plus I'm a sport boater, so i'm on and off throttle a LOT!
