    Steering servo - need help!

I just got done with a new setup in my Kyosho Hurricane. Here is what I have ...
Stock drive system, OSE 700 SC direct drive, Jeti Navy 600, 12 - 3300 nimh cells, X645 detongued prop. At half throttle it turns just fine but at WOT it is possessed - steering has a mind of it's own. I did a search and the Hitec HS-645MG came up - would this be a good choice for me?

Do you have a diode and caps on the motor terminals? Are your battery wires close to your receiver wires? Could be getting interference on your receiver wires from the motor?

Yes I have a diode and caps on the motor - the battery wires are clear of the receiver wires. I am thinking that the servo doesn't have enough torque with the bigger motor and higher voltage as it is a standard servo that came with the TX/RX.

Are you running BEC or a seperate reciever pack, by the way what is WOT ?

Receiver pack - need one with the Jeti navy 600.

          WOT = wide open throttle

It may just be a bit of a lazy servo.
But as you come up to full throttle do you have to turn before you lose control. If so it will be as the servo is pushing the rudder, because it is under a lot of stress it will be pulling more amps then usual and discharging your reciever pack down to maybe somewhere between 5 and 5.5 volts. If this is the case your reciever will not be getting full power thus the loss of steering. Your speedy will still be working though because it does not require as much voltage to operate as your servo. If this fits your situation you may just have a lazy reciever pack.

            Hope this helps

I use to run that speedy in my 700 OM, just could'nt remember about the BEC. I use to run a seperate BEC module. This way I avoided any radio power issues

Is it turning like that all by its self, has the servo ever had been exposed to some kind of moisture

Egneg, That Hitec HS-645MG servo is a good choice. It's a bit slower than some servos' so if you want to make those quick tight turns like in your pool, It may not be as responsive. I'm sure those turns aren't what you want out of your boat!

Let me get this straight, is the video of the boat with the servo problem or is the video of the boat with the servo fixed.

I posted the wrong video that was with a different setup. Sorry about that guys!

Diego I ordered the HS- 645MG and should have it by the end of the week.

                          Egneg,
Have you worked out what was wrong with your servo yet ?

I got the new servo today and put it in but haven't had a chance to test it.

Thanks for asking and I will post the results.

Finally got a chance to test things out today and the new servo did the trick. Held straight and turned nicely - much better than what was happening before.
