    Futuba Telemetry

    Hello all,

Anybody invested in any telemetry? I have a big twin build that im interested in setting up with some SBS-01V External Battery Voltage Sensor,

How does it work? i simply buy the sensors i want and a S.Bus Terminal Box?

Maybe interested in the GPS sensor too although i bought a eagletree one years ago i never ended up using.... also have one of them speedfleas and a bike computer GPS so that may come in the future,

    I have a new 7PXR and a T4GRS i use,

    Cheers, Liam

    Liam,

I am using the Futaba telemetry system in several of my boats. For boats running Castle ESC's I use the Castle-Futaba SBUS adapter which works quite well and tells you the voltage, current, temp, ripple, BEC voltage and RPM. In other boats I use the individual sensors from Futaba. It's a little bit of a pain to setup, but they do work. The GPS will only work with the 7PX(R).

For the individual sensors beyond a single sensor you do need the terminal boxes.

I was mostly using the telemetry to monitor ESC and motor temps.

      Hi Tyler,

Will be running it in large twins with old 40.160 & Dlux's, your thread on the new castles is a interesting read and for sure a go to for lower voltage setups.

Mainly interested in the temp sensors and maybe the voltage sensors.

I run temp and voltage on my old 40.160's plus motor temp and RPM sensors. If I had a 7PX I would run GPS, but still using an older 4PX.

Any chance you can post a pic of how you mount it all on a 40.160?

I don't have any good pics of the setup since they are tucked on the side of the motor or bottom of the ESC.
