Futaba 4PV Fail Safe kicking in at my Lake!!

Ok Boys in need of some advice. Purchased a Futaba 4PV radio for my new MHZ138 and after the First Run at my Lake my getting some serious "Dead Spots" and the Fail Safe is kicking in especially at 2 spots! This never happened with my Spektrum 5DX radio although this MHZ has Kevlar which I understand makes radio signal hard to penetrate. I have approx 4-5" of Antenna external out of the Hull! Any way to avoid this dilemma?? Thanks Guys!!!
