I love troubleshooting issues on forums regardless of the platform, because anecdotal suggestions like this sometimes are the answer. How the hell is anyone supposed to guess a power switch was causing control issues? Ok, I'll add that one to the list, thanks. Amazon delivers on Sunday, so hopefully I can head back to the lake tomorrow.

Yeah sometimes its the strange things. I hope you find the fix and share what the gremlin is.

I'll need a small english speaking rodent to ride in the boat to tell me. I can't see the light when it's floating dead in the water, and when it comes back online eventually, I would imagine said light would be gone.

I'd love to, but nothing local, that I've found anyways. The reason I'm running slow turns is two fold. Still setting the boat up and no recovery method other than a set of swim trunks.
No, it flashes continuously after a brown out, so you can see that you have had one when you bring it back and open it up.

Invest a few bucks on a telescopic fishing rod and tie a tennis ball to the end. cast the ball over your boat and it often gets tangled on your hardware so you can reel it in.

What is a glitch buster? Is it one of those ferrite rings that you wrap the wires around? If so, which wires do you wrap around it? Servo, Esc?
          Regards,

Nope a glitch buster is a 'capacitor' that stores a little energy for when something in the system over draws power. The ferrite choke is for magnetic pulses possibly transmitted through the wire to the Rx. Or so goes my knowledge.

It is a capacitor with a servo type plug that you plug into a free channel on your receiver, it stores energy from the BEC or RX battery helps feed the servo/s so the RX voltage does not drop as far under load.

Ah, got it. No, I have not seen any flashing lights when the boat comes back to shore. Good advice on the collapsing fishing pole.

I love three day weekends. Hit the lake this morning, glitch buster installed, no change. In fact possibly a little worse today, but I don't attribute that to the capacitor. Got home, Amazon had just delivered my SR210 receiver. Pulled it out of the packaging to install it and that's when I'm fairly confident I solved my problem. A simple comparison between the old and new receivers tells all. An antenna is pretty useless when there's shielding shrouding the entire length...

Hopefully the antenna on the old receiver can be rehabbed with a trusty set of wire strippers.

Did I mention how much I love three day weekends? It was a successful trip to the lake. The antenna was definitely the cause, range issue all along. With the new SR210 installed, I could run the boat clear across to the other side of the lake without a single hiccup. I performed a little surgery on the old antenna, so hopefully it will see service again in one of the other boats. Now to find my missing speed, but that's another thread.
