My thoughts on the Flysky GT3X TX radio thus far

    Hiya Guy's

I haven't found nuch in the way of reviews on the new Flysky GT3X 2.4ghz 3 channel radio as of yet, So I thought I'd way in on my experiences with it thus far.

I got burned by someone awhile back on a trade deal awhile ago that took my Wraith rockracer, nitro losi sc truck and Airtronics M11 radio w/ spekky module & 5 spekky rx's and split to FL. w/o making the deal good And leaving me hanging Without a reliable radio system for anything

so, I decided to take a chance on another FlySky Because I haven't had one since the bad experience I had with My previous FSGT3B that almost cost me my AQ UL-1 a few years ago in hopes they had gotten better.*!**

The radio is normally about $54 but currently it's on sale for $37 With additional receivers at $10 each and has a decent spec list for the price.

    Sub Trim

    Servo reversing

    Crawler mode (3 channel mixing)

    Anti-lock brakes

    EXPO

    EPA's

    Dual Rate steering

I ordered the *!**radio for my 1/8th scale XTM *!**Mega Monster Truck & Mammoth ST, Because if there's 1 thing I need it's a reliable radio for these 70 mph beasts. The radio is really nice, kinda small and light, especially with only 4 batteries in it. The menu is fairly easy to navigate, and the trim & sub trim actually work, unlike the FSGT3B/C.

My test vehicle was my XTM MMT since it was new & I needed to start the break in process. The radio worked great and functioned w/o a hiccup. I never had a range issue, the steering trim's worked well with the digital Cirrus servos.*!**

Everything was working just as it should have been until I tried to bind the three additional receivers I ordered to the transmitter, that's when things decided to go south. The bind process on these micro receivers Is very simple and there's no way to get it wrong, but for some reason the receivers would not bind to the radio.*!**

I followed the instructions to the letter And even tried a couple other tricks I know from different Radio Systems But had no luck, I even called and got a tech guy on the phone and went through it step by step with him but it still didn't work. So I boxed up the receiver's and sent them back to hobbypartz for an exchange. Well, The Tech Guy that I got on the phone The first time around called me yesterday and informed me that there was nothing wrong with the receivers that I sent back And he wanted me to send him the transmitter at my expense. I told him that I really didn't want to because it worked great in the truck I was currently running But if they would agree to cover the shipping I would go ahead and get it sent in, so he emailed me a return shipping label And told me that if he didn't find anything wrong with it they would charge me for the shipping instead which I thought was a bunch of crap Since they sent me a radio and or receivers that wouldn't bind to begin with. Needless to say I got it boxed up and shipped off this afternoon Comma So now in a way I fully expect another phone call telling me there's nothing wrong with the radio rather than accepting responsibility for their stuff, but I'll wait and see how it goes. Now I'm kind of wishing I had ordered the airtronics mx-v I was originally planning on buying to begin with*!** ...

For whatever reason some of the replacement receivers bind different. Normally you put power to the power plug and the bind loop to ch3. On these receivers I found you needed to put the bind loop in the power plug and batt power to the ch3 receptical, reversing the normal positions. Never had an RX that would not bind. Biggest issue I have seen with the RX's is the antennae lead will break where it enters the case. A dab of RTV cures that problem. For the money a good radio.

Thanks, that's precisely what I was doing. According to the instructions you can plug your power Source into Channel 1 2 or 3 it doesn't matter, however the Tech Guy I got on the phone said it has to be Channel 3 So that's what I was doing. I put the bind plug in The battery port And the power lead from my sbec to channel 3 to power it. The LED on the receiver would start flashing signifying it was in bind mode, I would then hold down the bind button on the transmitter and power it on. The LED on the transmitter would say it was in bind mode And after a couple seconds the LED on the receiver was supposed to stop blinking signifying that it was bound, but they never did bind. Unfortunately all three of the extra receivers that I bought were that way.*!**
