    FM Antenna

Has anyone ever used one of these? Apparently you can run the antenna inside the boat and the rage would be the same.

Someone could test it. Place this vertical antenna in the hull then place your boat in your front yard on the ground with stand. Get someone with a cell phone to stay with the boat and you walk down the street with the transmitter and cell phone. Use your steering as you walk and see if there is any difference in distance or glitching with the ways you mount the antenna. It will also give you a better idea of your radio range.

I should do this with all builds. Should not wait until I get it on the water to test it. Had a runaway with one new boat.

I tried one and I do not recommend them for boat useage. Loss of signal issues

Any carbon fiber in the hull would act as a shield and kept the rx from getting an efficient signal. Compare it to the window on a microwave oven. That tiny mesh keeps the microwave frequencies from escaping.
