Has the rx been exposed to water and/or fuel? MR200 should be at least splash proof. The 3000 series is water resistant. I am asking the obvious: after you bound the radio, did you unplug the binding plug?
The Spektrum sometimes get lazy if not used for a long time, and it takes longer than any other radio to come "alive" when you power up the ESC. I realize you have a nitro boat, but in my electric boats I often experience this situation. I need to wait 5 or more seconds to here any beeps from the motor/ESC.
It's odd that both channel stopped working. Are the servo plugs free of corrosion?
Step away from the boat and see if that helps. I remember it was mentioned that sometimes if the antenna is too close it will not function correctly, but don't hold me to it.
Too many boats, not enough time...

Tim is right, if you are too close the receiver will not bind. A few months ago a club member was trying to bind his MR200 with the transmitter 2 feet from the receiver. It would not bind. I told him to step away a few feet - low and behold once he stepped back a couple feet the receiver immediately bound!

thanks for the replies.i checked the servo plugs, they looked fine.the last time I ran the boat, which lasted approx. 3 hrs,I drained it every couple of runs.wasnt a lot,but did it anyways.the receiver is waterproof, and I have it in the radiobox which is sealed.when I was trying to bind it,i was approx. 4 feet away from it.i'll have to investigate further.thanks again.

well either,my receiver or transmitter is pooched.i hooked up power to it and tried rebinding twice but no avail.i went out and bought new servos today, hooked them up,and when I wiggled the battery plug on the terminal the new servos seemed to work intermittently.i then hooked them up to a sr301 and rebinded, didn't work neither.i then used an old 27mhz Traxxas tx and rx I had lying around, hooked them up,worked no problem.so,what are your expert opinions?

Well, don't know what to say, I will be more than happy to donate a tx to you, just like the one you have, DX2E, don't know what postage will be to Canada. That is assuming the fault lies with your tx. LMK, I have no use for that unit, don't even remember why I have it, it is new, just gathering dust. lol...

thankyou for the offer.unfortunately, ive had 2 dx2e's that have failed.im assuming my mr200 is bad also.so im not really impressed with the quality of the Spektrum line right now.time to try something else I think.thanks for your help.

I have two dx2e's in my shop that are probably the original ones made. I mean the antennas are hanging out they are beat up and worn out and look like crap, but still both working. I use them for bashing with my son with RC cars and trucks. Results vary I guess. Just saying there are fans and with any product some have issues I guess. You get that with any product when you produces 1000's of them.

I totally agree with what you are saying.im not knocking any manufacturer.im saying with my past experience with this line has left me very disappointed.when it did work once really well last week, and I was very impressed with the range and response I got with it.the next time I went to use it,nothing worked.im going to take the pieces to my LHS to have them check them for me as I cant decipher why it happened.

                    Good luck with your quest!
I have to say that when they ( Horizon Hobby) were selling the Stiletto with a tx ( DX3E), I was impressed. That was a 3 channel radio with EPA on each channel and the feel was good for an entry level radio. The DX2E was a later model and I feel it is just a cheaply made radio. It lacked the EPA and that was an unfortunate omission.
