It should, but test it both ways before you mount it in your boat and let us know.

A full wavelength antenna would be a good as you could get. But I don't think there is enough difference in what we are using these for that makes 1/2 or 1/4(or ?) wavelengths any worse(especially rx antennas). Hopefully there are some RF engineers who can enlighten us here!

Ha, you are probably right, but I have enjoyed thinking about it. Nothing exciting going on around here.

Ya I hear ya. I have the laptop out on the patio, bbq'ing dinner, and loading up the car for tomorrow's racing. I just put down the bbq tongs and came back to our conversation! Uh oh. Time to refresh that drink

very interesting topic! I like technincal stuff, it makes my brain hurt!!!

I wonder if Steven could get Andy Kunz to answer this question, he works for Horizon doing radio stuff.

He did sort of. It was Andy who gave us the info about the bump in the Spektrum antenna wire being the junction between the coax and the antenna. It must have been on this forum in the last day or so.

Miss seeing Fluid stick his head in the forums every once in a while. That guy has already pondered on everything. He knows stuff that we haven't even thought of the question yet. ha

yep read it, but this is a little more technical I think.

I have used a Speckrum Radio with a Hayes Whip with no problems. I just resoldered the transmitter aerial with the original Hayes tail direct to the Specktrum receiver board. Another Club Member is using this radio now without any problems as I moved over to the Futaba Fasst system as I prefer the stick radio.
