    What radio do you use?

What radio do you use to run your boats? I have a traxxas tqi and am about ready to get rid of it. Any suggestions for a replacement?

I've got a Radiopost and I love it! I use it for my SCTs and Boats. Plus they're a U.S. company http://www.radiopost.com/products/de...?cat=100&id=21

I'm partial to Spektrum. It does have water resistant RX's available. I run that exclusively.

The new Airtronic is supposed to have water resistant RX's now too plus they have lower latency. I can't tell you exactly how that translates into practical hands on use but the speed appears to be legit.

Futaba is still considered the gold standard to many. Relentless attention to detail and many years of proof in the field.

Lots of guys love their lower cost Flysky units. I've not heard any horror stories despite them being lower cost. Ton of features for the dough.

Each major manufacturer has a different attribute for which they claim theirs is the best.

There's a relentless thread from about a month ago about radios. I hope we can avoid going down that road again.

I use a Futaba 3pl, Range is excellent, I love it, feels nice in the hand.
Price is around $100 with 1 receiver, extra receivers are $35
I use it for my boat and all of my land vehicles

I have a tactic 2.4 , Spektrum dx2, and a traxxas tqi. I need one radio to control it all (except my rescue tug ) :)

                    Spektrum both land and air.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Futaba 3PM. Never a glitch in four years. You can pick them up used on ebay for about $100 but the cost of receivers....Ouch!! about $70 a pop.

I do use Spektrum for my planes and they have performed flawlessly also.

I use a Futaba 6EX six channel stick radio for my boats and planes, as at the time I went 2.4, FASST offered the strongest radio link (hitec/multiplex and Spektrum have now caught up with AFHSS and DSMR respectively), I bought a cheap used Spektrum DX2 for my cars. The 6EX has always been rock solid for me, the DX2 not so much but I do crash my cars through my own fault from time to time and so far have not crashed due to a glitch, but the thought of a glitch caused crash in my cars does not horrify me like it does with my planes and boats, I would have to crash from glitches a lot for the repair parts cost to add up to the cost of a second 6EX with centre sprung throttle.
